FIRST-GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENT GUIDEBOOK

First in your family to attend college or graduate school? Be proud and embrace your achievement(s), your family, your culture, and your community!

Now that you are here at SDSU, we want all first-generation students to maximize their success on campus. We encourage all students to utilize our First-Generation Student Guidebook to learn about various resources on campus, including but not limited to:

  • Where to seek academic advice
  • Mentorship programs
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Health and Wellness
  • High impact practices (e.g. internships, service-learning, undergraduate research, study abroad)
  • Tips on how to succeed at SDSU from current first-gen students

The California State University Office of the Chancellor also highlights 5 Things All First-Generation College Students Should Know.

We welcome feedback to help improve this campus resource.
